Wedding Date: August 27th, 2016. So we have been married for almost three whole months. I know, big mile stone!
Wedding Feel: Vintage Garden Elegance
Our Love Story:My husband I are met in 8th grade science class at the age of 12 yr old. We turned into best friends and everyone, including all of our teachers, knew we were meant to be together. Young love and immaturity lead us to years of an off and on-again relationship. After 2 years of not speaking we reconnected and the rest is history.
Wedding Day Gushing:
In one word our wedding was FABULOUS!
With all of the hard work we put into the little details, it was so nice to see all of the items we fretted over come out so well. The weather also held out! We were so worried about rain especially when everyone warned us about having an outdoor wedding in Cleveland, where the whether can be so unpredictable. However, God smiled on our union and blessed us with sun all day and rain at night while people were boogieing down so no one even noticed. In all, the day was filled with laughter, good friends, family and lots of love!
My Favorite Moment:
My favorite moment was definitely the garter toss. Well more like the garter retrieval. Not many people get to see the super silly side of my husband that I usually see. But during our garter toss when the DJ told him he had to do a little dance and work for that garter, the silly came out. I laughed so hard and loved every bit of it.
My Gush-Worthy Wedding Vendors:
How can I pick just one. So since this is my website I won’t:
First and foremost we LOVED our venue the Mooreland Mansion in Kirkland, Ohio. I loved it so much the the review of our venue is its own blog post, Hidden Gems: Mooreland Mansion. All I will say here is that the venue was gorgeous and the staff was amazing.
We absolutely loved our wedding cake by Cup Caked located in our hometown of Twinsburg, Ohio. It turned out beautiful and was delicious. I loved it so much I had two pieces! Sherry, the owner and baker, does great work.
I can not gush enough over our photographer Yevhen Gulenko of Human Artist Photography. We found him on the knot and really liked how we captured the details and action of our weddings. He was professional, reasonably priced, and was able to get a lot of great shots that showed our love. He was truly invisible during our wedding ceremony, while still capturing every moment. Our wedding pictures , which are featured in this blog post, came our so beautiful.
And lastly we loved our florist Joann from Bliel’s Secret Garden. We found Joann through recommendation from our venue. Even though we had a small flower budget, she worked with us to get the look we wanted for flowers for our wedding party. What I loved most was she allowed us to come in the day before the wedding and preview the wedding party bouquets. She didn’t just go off of a picture I gave her. She added her own touches to give me a bouquet that was a show stopper and completely fit our vintage elegance theme.
Planning Tips From One Bride to Another:
My planning tip is that wedding planning is a job for two, just as a wedding is a day for two people. So let your man be involved. Even though we think it is OUR day and our future husband doesn’t really care about the little details, I found out that they really do care. And you want to know why they care? Because they know it makes you happy. My day would not have come out so amazing with out my amazing husband executing my vision. Everyone was so impressed that he was fixing flower arrangements and making sure the every last decoration was in the right place. I was able to focus on what really mattered; HIM! He was able to execute my vision because we worked on this wedding planning as a team. I was the head coach and he was the quarterback. He had great ideas throughout the process and was able to rope me back run in when I wanted to go off the wedding planning deep-end. So my biggest tip is to include your husband.
