What Was Your Favorite Detail of Your Wedding?
My dress and venue! I always wanted a long sleeve wedding dress and found the perfect one at the first bridal store I went to. My venue was everything I wanted and more. The venue was the foundation of making my wedding so perfect.
What Was Your Favorite Part of Your Wedding Day?
When they opened the doors for my dad and me to walk down the aisle. I was so nervous, but seeing all of my family and friends in one room, celebrating Marcus and I was overwhelming in the best way possible. Seeing Marcus at the end of the aisle, with all my friends and family surrounding us, was something I will cherish forever and never forget!
What Was Your Favorite Part About Planning Your Wedding?
I love planning anything and everything. So when I was able to plan my own wedding and be extra detail oriented, it made the whole process so much fun for me. I have no complaints about planning and would do it over in a heartbeat!
What Planning Advice Do You Have for Other Couples?
Be calm and keep an open mind. If something you want won’t work, is not in the budget, or doesn’t go as planned don’t freak out. In the end, it will all work out, I promise. And try and plan as a couple, don’t just do what you want. I always asked Marcus if he liked the ideas or what his thoughts were. The wedding is about the two of you so try and plan as much together as possible.
Enjoy the whole process! Yes, there will be something along the process that will be stressful. Whether it’s an argument about money, a disagreement between you and your fiancé or you and your parents or soon to be in-laws, a tiff with someone in the bridal party, just remember the day is about you and your fiancé. Don’t get so caught up in the planning itself to forget the real reason for the wedding…to celebrate the love between you and your soon to be spouse.
I promise anyone who has had a wedding of their own will tell you how fast the day goes by. So please remember to take it all in. From the moment you wake up that day, to get ready with your best friends, to the pictures, to the jitters you get before walking down the aisle, to the ceremony, and finally the reception…ENJOY EVERY MINUTE OF IT!
