A makeup artist is a valuable asset to your wedding vendor roster. They have the ability to enhance your natural beauty and make you look like the best version of yourself. What makes it even better is when they are fun and bubbly. All of this, my friends, can be found in ShaTerra, the owner of ShaTerra Jenkins Makeup Artistry; a luxury on-location makeup and hair company. Located in Dayton, OH, ShaTerra’s approach to makeup artistry results for beautiful work that leaves you looking elegant and chic.

When talking with ShaTerra, I could tell that makeup was not only what she did for a living, but was her true passion. ShaTerra started off as an artist and found herself naturally pulled to makeup.  She has been formally trained as a makeup artist and aesthetician. ShaTerra uses this and her art background to transform brides into a beautiful masterpiece.  She is continually taking classes to be ahead of new trends, sharpen her understanding of new products, and deepen her knowledge on different skin tones and skin types.  This enables her to provide a luxury experience to all of her clients.

She has been in the business for five years and has built it on the foundation of providing superior service while making her clients feel comfortable with her warm personality.  As we talked and exchanged stories of our families and businesses, I felt that ShaTerra was so down to earth and a joy to be around. Her skill in combination with this fun loving attitude is what I believe sets ShaTerra apart from others.

Vendor Interview:

What Services Do You Offer?

At ShaTerra Jenkins Makeup Artistry I have a team of stylist that specializes in makeup application and hair styling to help brides to look their best on their big day. We offer makeup applications with airbrushing and faux lash application. Appointments for brides and their wedding party can either be at my studio or on-site at a wedding venue.  In addition, clients can choose the option to have a Personal Bridal Stylist for the day to make sure they are looking great from the ceremony to the reception. We service clients in the Columbus, Dayton, Cincinnati, and Northern Kentucky areas.

What is Your Process?

For my process, I meet with prospective clients to get to know them, their style, and understand details about their wedding day. We go over things like ideas they like for hair and makeup, their wedding colors, dress, and accessories. Once brides book, I schedule a preview session 6-8 weeks away from the wedding to show her what she will look like for their big day.

Why Should Bride’s Get A Makeup Artist?

On their wedding day, brides should be relaxing and getting pampered by a professional. Most times brides may be frazzled or nervous about all that is going on. This is why I believe it is best for them to sit back and have someone else to take care of them.

In addition, a makeup artist knows how to apply the products to the skin to make people look amazing and glamorous.  We understand how to have your makeup last all day and will make sure your look is camera ready.
