Jenna & Dylan
September 16th, 2017
Although Jenna and Dylan grew up in the same town, they never crossed paths until their senior year of high school where they became good friends. As they parted ways to go different colleges they kept in touch, but it wasn’t until they both found themselves in Los Angelos that they start to seriously date each other. Their love blossomed whiled they explored the streets of L.A. and formed a bond that could not be broken.
After years of dating, Dylan decided it was time to pop the question. Dylan asked Jenna if she wanted to go to her favorite restaurant and get drinks beforehand. While getting drinks, Dylan led Jenna over to hotel bar elevator and up to a suite on the top floor. Surrounded by chocolates, champagne, and roses, Dylan got down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage. With tears of joy and excitement, Jenna happily said “yes, yes, yes!”. These two graphic designers planned their wedding to be sweet and colorfully, which is personified in Jenna’s bright and beautiful wildflower bouquet. How Does Your Wedding StyleTheme Personify You As A Couple?
We both wanted our guests to have a really fun yet laid-back time, while surrounded by beautiful flowers, decorations, and personal touches.
What Was Your Favorite Part Of Planning Your Wedding?
Seeing our vision for the wedding come together! Initially it was difficult for us to describe the vibe that we wanted for our wedding, but after months of gathering and making decorations, searching for the right accessories, and repeatedly wondering “is this going to work?” it was amazing to see it all come together. We set up at our venue the day before the wedding with close family and friends, and as we wrapped up before our rehearsal started, I remember just being so amazed and that with the help of many, we were able to pull it off!
What Do You Love About Each Other?
We both honor and love each other for who we truly are. We love each other’s sense of humor, creativity, emotions, and what drives us. Our personality traits also balance each other out. Dylan has said that he loves that I push us to travel to new places and try new things, while I love that he reminds me not to stress out so much in life, and to be present in the moment and not always planning ahead. We are partners through and through.
Do You Have Any Wedding Planning Advice To Give To Other Couples?
Spreadsheets, spreadsheets, spreadsheets! Staying organized was key to meeting the vision that we had for our wedding. Google Sheets has an amazing wedding template, with sheets that cover many different categories of wedding planning.
What Was Your Favorite Detail of Your Wedding and Why Was It Important To You?
Dylan decorated our wedding cake with flowers that I had bought the day before the wedding. We had no idea how it would really turn out, and on the morning of our wedding, Dylan decorated it while I was at the salon getting hair and makeup done. It was really the only thing that I didn’t know what to expect with how it would turn out, but when I saw it for the first time during our reception, it took my breath away! It was beautiful and added an element of our personality that we tried to incorporate into many aspects of the wedding.
Did You Have Any Gush Worthy Vendors?
We loved our photographer, Anastasia Gentry! She made both of us feel so comfortable in front of the camera when normally we do not. She was fun, organized, and so talented — we love our photos! Our caterer, Feed the People Catering, was also amazing. Vickie Magliano was able to create a menu that satisfied many dietary restrictions (I’m vegetarian, and we have many gluten-free folks in the family). We were told by many of our guests that the food was the best wedding food they’ve ever had!
